Sam Kerr was a disappointing late withdrawal from the Matildas' Women's World Cup opener against Ireland on Thursday.
But her US soccer star girlfriend Kristie Mewis attempted to cheer up Sam by revealing a very intimate detail on her own body.
The Gotham FC midfielder, 32, took to Instagram to share a bikini pic while tanning poolside, and revealed a small tattoo that read 'Baby' on her inner thigh.
Referencing a photo of Mewis' soccer boots, Kerr commented 'didn't make the boots'.
Mewis gave the cheeky reply, 'you made my thigh,' before adding a wink emoji.
